The Basics Collection

Herringbone and chevron are both V-shaped patterns but they are constructed differently. In a herringbone pattern, rectangular tiles are laid at 90-degree angles to each other, creating a zigzag where the ends of each tile meet the side of the next. In a chevron pattern, tiles are cut at an angle so the ends meet in a continuous, unbroken V. Herringbone has a more broken, energetic quality. Chevron reads as more seamless and directional. Both are available in The Basics collection.

All patterns in The Basics collection are suited for shower floors. The smaller tile format of mosaic sheets creates more grout lines than large-format tile, improving slip resistance naturally across every pattern. Herringbone and square are the most popular choices for shower floors — herringbone adds directional energy to a small space, square reads clean and classic. A honed finish is recommended over polished for shower floor applications.
